After serving her country over 20 years in the military, your candidate returned home to serve Russell County. She has been a part of this community for many years, working diligently to make it a better place. She has numerous years of charitable work under her belt as a well-known fundraiser and philanthropist here in Russell County.
Through her tireless efforts as a CEO of her corporation, she has raised money for multiple organizations in Russell County by organizing and managing local events such as Pheasant hunts, Turkey shoots, and even a 5K. All funds were donated to either her local volunteer fire department in Fort Mitchell, Project Greene Light in Phenix City (supporting children in the foster care system) and to other programs supporting those in need.
She continued her commitment by working at food banks in local churches in the Hurtsboro/Hatchechubee area, judging local speech competitions for Russell County high school student scholarship competitors, and has currently taken on the huge project of renovating a building that she bought in downtown Hurtsboro to create an all-free all-age community center with an educational outreach program.
She has served as the Secretary on the Project Greene Light Executive Board, currently the Secretary of the Alabama Democratic Conference, an active member of the Russell County Exchange Club, the Russell County Historical Commission, the Russell County Chamber of Commerce, and was inducted into the Public Interest Society as a Fellow for her extensive service serving the Elder Law Clinic, the Family Violence Clinic and Meals on Wheels volunteer. She took a small break from 2 organizations during Covid but has since re-joined them to once again serve them with total dedication.

Your candidate knows that no other government office touches your life more than the Probate Judge's does. As an attorney she brings with her the knowledge and experience needed to serve you effectively and efficiently.
She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and then graduated from Faulkner University, Jones School of Law with a Doctorate in Juris Prudence focusing on Probate Law, Family Law and also became a Certified Mediator.
She interned at the Russell County Probate Court while in Law School and discovered that she had a natural ability in the area of Probate Law. While her father, a retired Army Master Sergeant, taught her to walk the ethical line at all times and to overcome any obstacles; it was her mother, employed at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital, that introduced her to the world of patients with mental incapacity due to drug and alcohol abuse and mental illness.
She learned early the meaning of commitments, guardianships, and to recognize the signs of true mental incapacity including dementia and alzheimer's. It seemed she was destined to be in the world of Probate. However, it was her military experience as a Chief Warrant Officer that taught her the necessary administrative, counseling and organizational skills to excel in the position of the Russell County Probate Judge.
"I love my community and the people in it." "I have served them for many years and will continue to do so wholeheartedly." People who know her in Russell County know that she will work 20 hours a day being a dedicated selfless servant that never slows down and will always accomplish her mission.
Her husband, Jimmy Strickland from Strickland Tree Service, has served the people of Russell County for over 27 years and continues to do so by bringing the internet, through the installation of fiber optic lines, to all of Russell County ensuring that every child has an opportunity to an education." "This is truly our home and community".
