It is so important to pick the most qualified person for the Probate Judge's position. The decisions made in that courtroom effect you for the rest of your life. That is why having someone with the education, experience and the passion for the people of Russell County is so critical. Local politics is so very important because it affects you everyday right here at home. So choose the best candidate for the job - not the party.
Andrea Calhoun had a dream to share her love for books with our fellow neighbors and asked Felton Biggs to help her create a waterproof box to put them in. While we were at one of our bible study groups from Mount Lebanon church in Cottonton, Andrea Told me about her dream and the struggles she had had to get it to the final stage. She asked me if I could help expedite this project. Fort Mitchell being in District 5 (where I live) is currently run by Commissioner Cattie Epps. Her and I are close friends and enjoy working together on community fundraisers, so it was a joy to reach out to her. A week later we had our ceremony planned and invited the community to join us on this past beautiful Saturday morning. We are all working together to maintain it and the books. Please come out and check it out - and a book or two.
We had a wonderful day of Golf at the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce Annual golf tournament. I believe that it is very important to support both our large and small local businesses in Russell County. I want to see our community to continue to grow and thrive and to do it together as a unified team.
I am committed and dedicated to the people of Russell County. I have focused my personal life and my professional life right here in Russell County, Alabama every day. I believe in supporting the small businesses in my community which provide us our farm supplies to our auto insurance and everything in between. I support our local school system, our churches and our medical facilities. We are embedded in this community and connected to the people in it because this truly is our home.

Leadership and Organizational Skills are 2 of the many strengths that I have that will aide me in keeping the Probate Office working efficiently and effectively!
Please take the time out to vote in the upcoming election. We all talk about politics and wanting to make changes in the system but unless we all get out and participate, it will not change. Even if you cannot make it out on November the 5th, please work with the County Clerk's office to file an absentee ballot. 2024 is going to be a time of great change and let's vote to make it a change for the better.
My consistent attendance at Russell County governmental meetings such as Phenix City council meetings, Russell County council meetings, Hurtsboro City council meetings, Board of Education meetings, and Town Hall Forums keeps my finger on the Pulse of the People at all times. You can trust that I know the issues that concern the people and how to help resolve them by working closely with the leaders in our community not just in the court room as an attorney but as your next Probate Judge.
I am thankful for having so many talented and dedicated people in our education system here in Russell County.
I have been an active member in our community for so many years that it has become second nature for myself and my family to be involved in all of our community events and organizations.
People always ask me "why did I go in to the field of probate law"? That is such an easy answer for me: "because it is the one area of law where I get to help more people every day with the things that matter to them the most". Everyone who knows me will recognize the words in my video because it is always the same answer from me; just sometimes my answer is more detailed than other times.
What a beautiful place to talk about how important probate legal work is to me and our community. I have a passion for this area of law because my heart is tied to the people who are affected by it on a daily basis. This is my area of legal expertise and I will continue to enhance my legal skills in this area everyday by staying on top of all the Probate Code changes and the case law that corelates to it.
